Hinge/Works is thrilled to release a new, all-instrumental recording of Denis Nye’s 2016 chamber score for Persephone in the Late Anthropocene, in harmony with the fall 2020 book launch of Megan Grumbling's libretto, Persephone in the Late Anthropocene, in its new life as a poetry collection from Acre Books.
The post-Romantic music of Persephone is available free for streaming and download. Listen here, or else just over there to the right.
Performing are Sam Schuth on violin, Leigh-Ashley Milne on viola, Volkhard Lindner on cello, and Benjamin Meiklejohn on oboe, under the musical direction of Aaron Pettengill. It was recorded, mixed, and mastered in late summer of 2020 at Acadia Recording Co., in Portland, Maine, with generous funding from the Maine Arts Commission.
